In 1949, one year after the establishment of the state in Israel, the Association of Contractors & builders in Israel was founded.
The Association set itself the task of unifying under one roof all of Israel`s builders and contractors active in the Building industry.
Today, with 1,500 members, it is the official representative of Israel`s building industry, and is recognized as such by the government, local authorities, contractors, professional organizations, the general public and various institutes throughout the world.
The association, in cooperation with the Fund for the promotion & development of the construction industry in Israel, also handles the training of Israeli construction workers and promotes the industrialization and modernization of the building industry.
Operating through 13 local branches, the Association of Contractors & builders in Israel has registered considerable achievements over the last few years.
It has expanded its scope of activities and deepened its involvement in the Israeli economy as evidenced by the accelerated building in recent years. Worldwide connections the Association of Contractors & builders in Israel, along with Israeli building and infrastructure companies, maintains professional contacts worldwide.
These international connections are developed in order to promote global working relations, exchange know-how and coordinate international visits.
More and more Israeli companies are entering into joint ventures with foreign-held companies in order to facilitate construction projects in a growing number of countries across every continent. A bridge to peace The regional peace process is irreversible and will have positive economic ramifications for the entire Middle East.
Israel is the hub of the Middle East, offering technologically advanced infrastructures and modern construction methods. These are assets that will turn Israel`s developers, its contractors and its construction industry workforce into leaders in the region.
Steps must be taken to prepare for this turn of events.
The infrastructure must be expanded to serve the growing economy: railways and highways; airports and seaports; development and management of water sources. ELECTED INSTITUTIONS Annual Assembly Convenes every three years to select the association`s institutions and determine its policies. The assembly is comprised of all the association's members . The Association of Contractors and Builders in Israel is the sole holder of the Israel contractors and builders Development Company Ltd.
It raises public funds and serves as a holding company for the Israel Constructors and Builders Finance Company Ltd. It is also a member of international organizations; International Housing Association, and FIABCI.
